MELANIE SALAZAR IS an 18-year-old student who just started college in Texas – but she’s not your normal fresher.
Because her 82-year-old grandad Neira is also enrolled at the same University.
And the pair of them have been hanging out on campus this week
Melanie tweeted the story on Wednesday and her and her adorable grandad have gone viral.
As Buzzfeed discovered, Neira is taking his last class that he needs to achieve a degree in economics – something he has been working towards since he lost his wife in 2009.

He told Buzzfeed:
Sometimes I wonder, what in the world is an 82-year old doing, going to college. But somehow, something keeps me going. I think it keeps me mentally alert, too.
It shows that it’s never too late to so anything, really
And it’s little wonder that people have fallen hard for their story
He’s only going to be there for one semester with Melanie because he’s so close to graduating
