Videos: Grey's Anatomy is coming back. Rejoice if you must
THERE WAS A time, pre-2005, when the words McDreamy and McSteamy seemed unlikely to enter everyday use barring an intervention from McDonalds.
Thanks to Grey’s Anatomy, however, these words will forever represent two fictional doctors who do things in slow motion, pout and generally provide an accurate representation of what things aren’t like in Irish hospitals.
For this, the world appears to love them. As a result, you may just want to see what season nine has in store.
The promo video below should give you all you need, including the nugget that ‘Grey’s Anatomy is back, and the plane crash was only the beginning’ – which we’re sure came as a relief to the writers.
Dialogue-wise, it’s a treat. I mean, how often do you hear ‘promise me you won’t let them take my leg’ being uttered? I mean, really, how often?
We especially like the rollercoaster ride that awaits all viewers as we’re told that ‘this season their biggest challenge is to live like there’s no tomorrow’. Eh, wow.
While they go about doing that, they presumably want you to get on board with this by living your life by watching them trying to live their lives… oh, whatever.
Roll it there Róisín…

The best bit about this, however, is the music, which comes from a Dublin band whose name sounds worryingly like a medication one of the McDoctors would prescribe – Kodaline.

Judging from their Facebook page they aren’t letting their new-found fame go to their heads anyway, which is nice.
