Singer Grimes got 'electrocuted' on stage in Dublin's Olympia Theatre last night

Ouuuuch.

LAST NIGHT, CANADIAN singer Grimes performed in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre. (Remember the time her song was featured in an Eircom ad?)

The highly anticipated gig was a sold-out affair and people were pumped.

And it turned out to be a gig to remember… for all the wrong reasons.

Midway through the show, the singer began experiencing extreme technical difficulties when her audio equipment malfunctioned.

Loud blows could be heard at various points throughout the show…

Which had everyone worrying for her little ears.

Despite everything, she soldiered on and everyone still had a fairly whopper time.

Afterwards, Grimes tweeted an apology to her Dublin fans and stated that she had been ‘electrocuted’ on stage

Dublin! 1 mil apologies that my pedal failed and I was electrocuted, but there r tears in my eyes that y’all were so so wonderful

She also shared this rather apt photo on Instagram.

And now the story has gone international.

Fortunately it doesn’t look like Grimes has been put off by her visit to Ireland…

She told Irish Times journalist Laurence Mackin that she’d be more than up for a rematch.
