HOW?

A REDDIT USER has made a startling confession — he has been drinking tea wrong his whole life.

But not just a little bit wrong. Really wrong.

Reddit user -MagicMan- took to the r/TIFU forum to explain that his girlfriend and her family witnessed him doing the unthinkable.

Brace yourselves.

He prefaced the story by explaining that this wasn’t just a one-time thing.

This has actually been happening for 8+ years.Since I was a kid, my mom would always tell me how healthy tea was for you, and how much antioxidants it had in it.

Okay, continue.

Well, i took that too literally. In order to get all them goodnesses, i would rip open the tea pack and pour in all of the spices and drink them. This would result in me coughing out my lungs and a dry throat. I thought “oh well, its worth it for all those goodnesses.”

WAIT, WHAT?

Have you never seen people drinking tea on television?

It gets worse, friends.

Until today, when i was drinking tea at my girlfriends house and both her and her parents saw me and proceeded to laugh their assses off. They then took a couple pictures of me, had them processed and hung. My mom now wants some prints of those pictures as well. We’re driving to Walmart right now to pick them up.

Time to move to a new town and assume a new identify, pal, because that it embarrassing.

Bizarrely, he’s not alone.

Twitter is full of stories from people who thought you had to open the teabag before consuming it.

Get it together, lads.

Come to Ireland and we’ll show you how it’s done.
