What's happening with the Hank Scorpio heads around Dublin?

What are they? Where are they coming from? There’s now an interactive map.

IF YOU’VE WALKED around Dublin city centre recently, you may have seen this man:

His face is being mysteriously pasted on bits of street architecture around the city. (This one is on Peter Row.)

He is of course Hank Scorpio, evil supervillain and ideal boss from The Simpsons.

Scorpio!
He’ll sting you with his dreams of power and wealth.
Beware of Scorpio!
His twisted twin obsessions are his plot to rule the world, and his employees’ health.
He’ll welcome you into his lair, like the nobleman welcomes his guest.

So where are the Hank Scorpios coming from? Who is sticking them up around the city? It’s a mystery.

Luckily, one man has taken it upon himself to track down this phenomenon. Web developer Conor Smith is compiling an interactive map of all the Hank Scorpios around the city centre.

I cannot determine who is doing this or why they are doing it. I’m not sure if I want to know. I think I just want to keep finding Hank Scorpios throughout Dublin.
