Harry Potter actor written out - because he's too expensive to insure
VETERAN ACTOR ROBERT Hardy was written out of the Harry Potter film series – but not for the reasons you might imagine.
His talent when playing the character Cornelius Fudge from the Ministry of Magic was not in question – instead, it was how much it cost to have him on set.
The Daily Mail reports today that at the age of 85, Hardy is simply too expensive to insure.
While speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Hardy said that it would have cost Warner Brothers £1 million to insure him – but they did not want to pay.
So after starring in four films in the Harry Potter franchise, his character was written out.
In fact, you could say he disappeared like magic.
