POTTER FANS, REJOICE – J.K. Rowling isn’t quite done with the boy wizard yet.
The author is currently working on a stage play based on the Harry Potter novels, which will hit London’s West End within two years.
According to the Daily Mail, she won’t be writing the play herself but will co-produce alongside two of London’s top producers and work with a playwright to create the script.
The play will focus on “the previously untold story of Harry’s early years as an orphan and outcast” – so before Hagrid turned up to send him off to Hogwarts.
Rowling says they thought of many different approaches to bring Harry to the stage, but this is the only angle that “made sense” to her.
The play will “offer a unique insight into the heart and mind of the now legendary young wizard. A seemingly ordinary boy, but one for whom destiny has plans…”
It’s OK if you feel uncontrollably excited. We feel that way too.
