Harry Styles has revealed that Shania Twain is his main fashion influence... it's The Dredge

All of the celeb dirt you’d need on a Thursday.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

Former One Direction singer Harry Styles has revealed that Shania Twain is his main fashion influence.

Makes sense. It’s not just a recent thing either, because Harry Styles has been tweeting about the singer since 2013.

Styles shared this news at the Victoria’s Secret show in Shanghai, telling Entertainment Tonight that when it comes to both fashion and music, his biggest influence is Shania Twain. Neither of them shy away from leopard print or Cuban heeled boots.

A Youtuber named Bryan Lanning said that two months ago he was sitting in the same room as Harry Styles playing a Shania Twain song on a kazoo. He’s definitely not the only one, anyway – earlier this week Miley Cyrus appeared on The Voice plastered in leopard print to perform a cover of ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman‘. (New York Post)

Ed Sheeran asked the Prime Minister of New Zealand to grant him citizenship and she responded on Twitter.

Sheeran jokingly launched his plea, saying “I’m not yet a citizen of New Zealand but I’m working on it. Hook me up, Prime Minister.”

It wasn’t long until NZ’s PM Jacinda Ardern got back to him with a couple of questions to test his eligibility.

I understand you’ve put through a very informal request for citizenship. Well, before we’re able to think about that a little more, I’ve got some really important questions for you. The first: do you like pineapple lumps? Do you even know what they are?

On Googling, it appears that pineapple lumps are pineapple sweets covered in chocolate which actually look really nice. Anyway, she continued:

Are you willing to wear ‘jandals’ in semi-inappropriate situations? Do you know what ‘jandals’ are? Most important question of all, are you willing to make New Zealand your home? Let me know.

Has Ed’s relationship with Ireland been a sham? Is he seeing other countries? Has he secretly been pandering to different nations all along? Call off all 50 of his Irish concert dates. (NZ Herald)

J.K. Rowling has reportedly been blocking Twitter users who are unhappy with the casting of Johnny Depp for the sequel to Fantastic Beasts.

Fans of the writer have been unhappy with the participation of Johnny Depp in the film, following allegations of domestic abuse from his ex-wife, Amber Heard. The director of the movie, David Yates, has called the Depp situation a “dead issue” and described it as “very different [to the cases] where there are multiple accusers over many years.”

However, many members of the public don’t feel the same way and think this role would be more suited to the many, many other men who haven’t had similar allegations made against them. They aired their concerns on Twitter, but according to Teen Vogue, a number of users have been blocked by Rowling.

One fan named Lindsey wrote “So if I understand correctly, the actor who played Crabbe, a minor character, was fired from Harry Potter for doing drugs. Yet Johnny Depp, who abused his wife, gets a major role in your movies? Correct me if I’m wrong @jk_rowling”.

A day later, when Lindsey went to check if she had received a response, she found that Rowling had blocked her. Other users also claimed that they had been blocked and expressed disappointment in the author. (Teen Vogue)
