Herman Cain on Libya: 'President Obama supported the uprising. Correct?'
IN THE LATEST error to hit Republicans’ battle for the nomination for the US presidency, surprise poll frontrunner Herman Cain appeared to be unfamiliar with America’s policy on the recent conflict in Libya.
In a painful-to-watch interview Cain is asked by a reporter at the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel whether or not he agrees with President Obama on the conflict in Libya which recently came to an end following the death of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
Cain’s response is less than convincing: “Okay, Libya,” he says rolling his eyes and gathering his thoughts.
Looking down at the table in front of him, he asks: “President Obama supported the uprising. Correct? President Obama called for the removal of Gaddafi?
He goes on: “I do not agree with the way he handled it for the following reason… no, that’s a different one.”
The former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, who has had to deal with allegations of sexual harassment by former work colleagues, added that he had “got all this stuff twirling around in my head”.

The gaffe is reminiscent of fellow Republican hopeful Rick Perry’s now infamous “brain freeze” in last week’s debate when he was unable to remember one of the government departments he pledged to abolish if elected.
