If, however, you’ve never thought of Hilary Swank and Jennifer Garner as dead ringers, you’re apparently on your own as Hilary is constantly being mistaken for Jennifer.
And it turns out Jennifer’s fans can get a little tetchy when they’re denied an autograph by a person who, you know, isn’t the person they think it is.
Appearing on Conan O’Brien this week, Hilary revealed that she’s been called ‘a bitch’ by fans who think her reluctance to take a selfie is down to being some form of diva.
People get angry at me because they think I’m just trying not to sign an autograph for them or take a picture. They’ll say, ‘Oh God, I’m such a big fan, I loved you in Alias and I’m like, ‘Oh, it’s not me’.
And they’re not taking that.
They’re like ‘ Oh no, please! I know you’re busy with your family, but please! And I’m like ‘I’m not Jennifer’ and they’re like ‘PLEASE!’
Taking up when Hilary leaves off, Conan suggest most of these exchanges result in members of the public branding Jennifer Garner ‘a bitch’ to which Hilary revealed she actually finds herself on the receiving end of that insult.
They actually say ‘Don’t be a bitch’, and I was like… I didn’t want to give her a bad name, so I took a photo with them and maybe someone will say some day that’s not Jennifer Garner.
Well, you’d hope so…
