Like, REALLY fast.

VIDEO FOOTAGE FILMED in Chobe National Park in Botswana and posted to Facebook shows just how fast a hippo can travel in the water.

The footage was shot from a safari speedboat and shows the boat speeding up when the animal is spotted approaching in the Chobe river.

In this terifying footage filmed by Craig Jackson in Zambia and posted to Facebook by Michael Varndell, an animal beneath the water swims swiftly after the boat before launching itself out of the water.

So is it a crocodile? Maybe a shark?

No, it’s a hippo – one of those animals that you might forget is actuallly quite dangerous.

And fast.
