WE’VE LOST A number of great characters throughout the seasons of Game of Thrones but none as dramatic as Hodor. Hodor who was a fan favourite sadly left us in season 6 and we weren’t able to look at doors in the same way again.
However it was the season after where music superstar Ed Sheeran made a cameo in the season premiere.
He was a singing (of course) and at the time, fans weren’t particularly that enthused by the whole thing.
Ed Sheeran appearing on game of thrones but not being brutally disemboweled was very disappointing

If Arya kills Ed Sheeran it'll be worth it

The Ed Sheeran scene was actually an interesting moment/departure that was overshadowed by putting Ed Sheeran in it

Well it turns out that Hodor himself wasn’t a big fan of the cameo either. Speaking to The Huffington Post actor Kristian Nairn revealed that he disliked cameos in shows as a whole.
I’m not a fan of the cameos in ‘Game of Thrones.’ I don’t like them. I think it’s stupid.
Nairn said he doesn’t dislike Sheeran as a person or a musician but found his cameo in the show nonsensical.
I was like, ‘Why is Ed Sheeran here?’ I mean, Ed Sheeran’s great. He’s a great guy, great musician, but why is he in ‘Game of Thrones’?It’s a fantasy show. We’re all caught in this amazing world and spend so much time and money and talent to create, and all of a sudden there’s a pop star? What?
Not mincing his words so.
You’ll recall at the time of the cameo, Ed Sheeran left Twitter. He’s always denied that he didn’t leave because of backlash to his cameo from fans and instead said the timing of both events was ‘a coincidence’.
Were there ANY cameos that Kristian Nairn enjoyed? Well yes, he did really enjoy Icelandic band Sigur Rós who showed up at Joffrey’s wedding in season 4. He wasn’t having any other cameos though.
[Sigur Rós] kind of got away with it because they’re so quirky … They’re almost like ‘Game of Thrones’ world in real life. They’re so elven and spiritual. I think that works, but apart from that — I mean, I understand why people want to be in it, but just no. Go away.
In other words, hold the door to any other cameos please.
