Hollywood's James Franco agrees Amazon deal for new novel: report

The actor-turned-writer published a short story collection in 2010, but looks set to publish his first novel with the online retailer.

THE OSCAR NOMINATED actor-turned-scholar-turned-writer James Franco has agreed a new book deal with Amazon which will see his first novel sold through the online retailer.

The new book by Franco, who presented the Oscars alongside Anne Hathaway last year, is titled Actors Anonymous and Franco has drawn on his own experiences in the film industry for inspiration, the New York Observer reports.

Franco has already published a book; his series of short stories was published by Scribner in 2010.

That collection has generated quite mixed reviews on Franco’s new publisher, Amazon, with customers’ comments ranging from “stick to acting Franco, don’t let writing tarnish your reputation”, to “I found this book to be fascinatingly interactive”.
