How to... Stage a duck race
GREAT WEATHER FOR ducks, innit? Especially on the Liffey yesterday where nearly 1,000 plastic ducks took to the river for a Niall Mellon Township fundraising event.
Judging by photographer Stephen Kilkenny’s smooth step-by-step photographs, this should remain the template for plastic duck races the world over. (Although the organisers’ email says that duck No.666 won it. Yikes.)
This is how to stage a ducking great fun race:
Step 1 - Find a bucket for your duckets
Step 2 - Duck 'em under in one go
Step 3 - Get yer ducks in a row at the start line
Step 4 - Build a bridge and get over it
Step 5 - Spread out to win by a bill
Step 6 - Leave no straggler behind
Step 7 - Get back to dry land
Step 8 - Take home a ducking great souvenir
