Everyone's talking about Hugh Grant's excellent performance in his new show 'A Very English Scandal'
HUGH GRANT IS starring in a brand new drama on the Beeb, called ‘A Very English Scandal’.
A three part-series, ‘A Very English Scandal’ is a dramatisation of the 1970s Jeremy Thorpe scandal in Britain, in which MP Jeremy Thorpe – played by Grant - was tried and acquitted of conspiring to murder his former lover, Norman Scott. Thorpe was the leader of the Liberal Party and his former lover was threatening to expose him for being in a gay relationship during an era when it was illegal within the laws of the UK. Scandalous, indeed.

Reviews for the series so far have been pretty stellar – Independent.co.uk said Grant was “an inspired choice” for the role. Digital Spy reckon he could be in with a shout for a Bafta. Not bad for someone who hasn’t been on telly since 1999.
His performance is going down a treat on Twitter too:
A Very English Scandal continues next Sunday (May 27) at 10pm on BBC One.
