LAST WEEK, A major controversy blew up around Hulk Hogan – with the wrestler, reality show star and former all-American hero at the centre of the news.
It came out that Hulk had said a racist term eight years ago, and last week got fired because of it. Hulk apologised for the remarks, but it hasn’t exactly calmed down – and the last 24 hours has seen his Twitter account become the centre of attention.
People have been sending Hulk tweets of supposed support – but they aren’t real in the slightest.
Here, someone says that Drake and former footballer Rio Ferdinand are right behind him and Hulk retweeted it
Hulk also retweeted this image of Comedy Central ensemble The Sidemen - thinking they were a real group of supporters
More footballers followed, as Hulk was clearly unaware that he was retweeting famous sports stars and musicians
After thousands of retweets on these jokes, people just started watching Hulk’s Twitter to see what happened next
With some comparing his timeline to a scene from Craggy Island
But basically, Twitter is finding the whole retweet situation more than amusing
This is how not to handle social media in a crisis.
