This is the real guy behind Humans of New York

You’ve probably seen his portraits, now see his face.

HUMANS OF NEW York is a project by Brandon Stanton in which he takes portraits of people he encounters in the Big Apple.

You may be familiar with the Facebook page, which includes the images as well as excerpts from the stories of the people he photographs.

Stanton started the project in 2010, and the page now has more than 1.5 million followers. Now, there is a book, which includes 400 photographs, and to celebrate, Mashable got to meet the man himself and see him in action on the streets of New York.
