REMEMBER IAN O’CONNELL?
The inspirational teenager captured the hearts of the nation on The Late Late Show, when he shared his story of living with a C/4 spinal chord injury.
Paralyzed from the shoulders down after a freak accident at the Killarney National Park, the 4th year student shared his message: “If you can’t stand up, stand out”.
Speaking to Ryan Tubridy about his hopes and dreams for the future, he also divulged that a certain Mr. Conor McGregor is his idol.
Well, a little birdie must have got in touch, because the pair came face-to-face over the weekend.
‘The Notorious’ shared a snap of the pair, captioning it:
Watching the Late Late show last night and on comes this young man @ianoconnell321! I was blown away by him and his attitude to life and in facing adversity! Truly blown away!
Then tonight, by complete chance, I bumped into him at an event and end up getting to watch the main event fight ringside with him! What a night! Thank you Ian it was great to meet you my brother, you are some man!
Your quote literally blew me away! “If you can’t stand up, STAND OUT!” What a legend!”
Before everything kicks off in the comments – can he be a gobshite? Yes. Was this a nice thing to do? Also, yes.
