Amir Khan lost the absolute plot when he pulled a snake out during his trial on I'm A Celeb

Safe to assume he wouldn’t be a Taylor Swift fan, then.

AMIR KHAN SHOULD be well used to handling snakes, right?

Get your mind out of the gutter please – I am, of course, referring to this picture of him chilling with one in a nightclub.

So, the I’m A Celeb bushtucker trials should be an absolute cake walk for him, surely?

Wrong. So very, very wrong.

As part of Critter-Cal Rescue, the first trial of the series, Amir was met with his “biggest fear” – snakes (so he said before signing up to the show which he has never seen, anyway)

While campmate Toff (from Made In Chelsea) was locked in a dark chamber in a termite’s nest, Amir had to had to make his way around the nest and find 8 different keys attached to numbered disks.

The eight keys could then be used to undo the padlocks on the door of the chamber and rescue the other celebrity.

When Amir reached in to hole number three, however, he ended up getting more than he bargained for – when he pulled out a snake instead of a key.

He told Ant and Dec …

I can’t do it, I’m sorry.”

… Meaning he and his campmate would be without food for 24 hours.

Naturally, Twitter had a field day.

Slightly hyperbolic there, Amir.

He’s already being lined up as the next Gillian McKeith.

His performance isn’t that surprising, given that he’s not even sure of the name of the show.

He’s up again tonight – let’s see if he fares any better!
