And while the man himself seemed fairly happy with the outcome, viewers at home were busy joining the dots over the presence of Malique’s backpack at the campsite, and – more specifically – its implications.
You see, when the contestants gathered to hear the outcome of the vote, the Hollyoaks actor was the only one wearing his backpack, leading viewers to believe that he already knew he’d be waving goodbye to the campsite.
While Malique was busy telling hosts, Holly Willoughby and Dec Donnelly, just how glad he was to be leaving the dire food situation behind, fans of the show were tweeting their doubts over the show’s authenticity.

Naturally, ITV were keen to dismiss the suggestions, and responded to the viewers’ comments by insisting that campmates can choose to wear their backpacks in advance of the result if they wish.
Hmmm…
