From food stands to portable toilets, here’s a breakdown of the figures behind this weekend’s music festival the Electric Picnic…

HAVE YOU EVER wondered how many portable toilets are on site throughout the Electric Picnic festival, or how many gardaí it takes to keep everything running smoothly over the weekend?

Then feast your eyes on the Electric Picnic – in numbers:

  • 600 – acres the estate of Stradbally Hall is set on
  • 32,500 – tickets on sale for this year’s event. There are also day tickets available for Sunday and children under 12 are admitted free of charge
  • 750 – portable toilet units available for use by festival goers
  • 80 – food stands offering everything from sushi to spare ribs. Celebrity chef Derry Clarke will be there too, to cook a romantic meal for a pair of lucky competition winners… AND he’ll be cooking them breakfast the following morning
  • 4,000 – people involved in setting up the site at peak time
  • 17 – stages site manager Robbie Butler estimates are on site
  • 60 – gardaí involved in traffic management and policing of the site
  • 80 – contractors involved in setting up everything from stages to roads to lighting to bars
  • 240 – cost of a ticket in euros, with Sunday tickets on sale for €99.50
