In pics: the first night of the Electric Picnic
THE ELECTRIC PICNIC has gotten underway in Stradbally, Co Laois this evening. As revellers arrived for a weekend of culture and camping, events got underway across seven festival areas and stages this afternoon. Alabama Shakes and Gavin Friday have already taken to the main stage, and Icelandic band Sigur Ros are due there later tonight.
Meanwhile, The Vaccines and Ed Sheeran are among the acts playing the Electric Area this evening, while Mark Lanegan and Christy Moore hit the Crawdaddy stage. The festival is set to run until late on Sunday night.
