A COLOURFUL memorial service was held in east London’s Holy Trinity Church yesterday in memory of the founder of modern clowns Joseph Grimaldi.

Grimaldi passed away in 1837.

Clowns attended the service in full costume to celebrate Grimaldi’s life, which is commemorated on the first Sunday of February:
