They’re all in a new museum which opens in Dublin this evening. The Little Museum aims to be a “museum of the city”, and contains a selection of artefacts to highlight the social, cultural and political history of Dublin in the 20th century.
More than 40o Dubliners have donated possessions to the museum, which was co-founded by former Dubliner editor Trevor White. “This is a very exciting day for Dublin,” White said. “All great cities have a museum that documents their history, and now – at last – Dublin is no exception.”
The museum, which is located at 15 St Stephen’s Green, also features a postcard from George Bernard Shaw, the original Wanderly Wagon from the TV series, and the menu from Jammet’s restaurant. It will be opened this evening by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Andrew Montague.
