THE PRESTIGIOUS WORLD Travel Awards for 2016 were held last week in the Maldives.
Among the Irish winners were Titanic Belfast – named the world’s leading tourist attraction - and a host of hotel awards specifically for Ireland.
Among them, Inchydoney Island Lodge in Cork was named the country’s leading spa
Where the views from the balconies are impressive
Looking over Inchydoney beach
Situated right on the beach outside Clonakilty in west Cork, the hotel has won the award five previous times in the last decade
They have relaxing rooms with views of the Celtic Sea
And four poster beds
The spa, of course, is the reason they won out in the end
But the surrounding hotel only adds to the aura
And a walk on the famous beach is as good a tonic as any
Sure it’s been named as the best beach in Ireland in the past
So it’s not a bad spot to relax by the sea
