What's in my makeup bag? Keeva Byrne
Each week, we’ll be taking a peek into some of our faves’ makeup bags to see their must-have products, because we’re nosey. This week, it’s the turn of Inglot makeup artist Keeva Byrne. You can see more of Keeva’s work here.
Her earliest makeup memories
“One of my earliest memories of makeup would have been when I was around 10 years old. I got a Christmas present of ‘proper makeup’, aka not just a pink plastic set with metallic blue eyeshadows and sheer, sparkly glosses. It was from one of my oldest friends from primary school.
“Then in secondary school over the summer, we were about 12, myself and my friends would spend hours looking at the makeup stands in Dunnes until we got kicked out by security. My favourite item ever was an eyeshadow duo from Catrice with a lilac and hot purple shadow.
“I wish I learned how to blend my eyeshadow sooner… That’s when I knew that colour was my absolute favourite. I had to forcemyself to wear neutrals and browns and I still have to do the same to this day, 8 years later!”
Her makeup bag and what’s inside?
“I have quite oily skin so the Inglot HD Yellow Primer is an essential for. Lovely to cover up some redness and blue undertones as I’m quite fair and everything shows up on my skin! The best at keeping makeup on all day and night.
“Bit of a basic one, but Carmex is a necessity for priming the lips! I put this on before starting my makeup and it gives it time to sink in. Works really well as a lipgloss for over liquid lipsticks or lipliners.

“L’Oréal True Match liquid foundation is my holy grail foundation. It has the most blendable, flawless finish! I wouldn’t call it full coverage but it covers everything that I want it to. I use shade 1N for everyday wear and 3W for when I have false tan on and it is perfect. Really lovely for mixing with other foundations, too.
“I’m sorry, the hype is so real with the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. I was blown away by the coverage and finish of this product when I first used it. Complete full coverage and dries down to a lovely soft matte which doesn’t require a lot of setting for it to stay in place. It’s hard for us to get here in Ireland so if you know anyone going away that could pick it up for you, it’s a must.
“MAC Studio Fix powder is really nice, lightweight face powder with some coverage. I use shade NC15 daily to set my whole face, when I have some tan on, I use it lightly underneath my eyes to brighten. Super nice, OG powder!

“I love a brow mascara, so the Essence Make Me Brow is really handy for natural brows to add colour, for getting rid of any foundation or powder that’s sitting on the hairs, and to keep the hairs in place. I use this before doing my brows to add colour to my fair hair, and after to give the hairs some dimension back.
“The Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in ‘Taupe’ is the best brow gel ever made. So long wearing and comfortable in the brows. The colour ‘Taupe’ suits blondes and brunettes really well because of the cool undertones. It also works super well as an eyeshadow base if you’re going for a smokey look.

“Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara has been my favourite mascara for years and is the only one I’ve repurchased! It’s brilliant at separating out the lashes but keeping the curl and volume all day. So fab.

“I love most of the shades of the Inglot HD Matte Lip Tint, but my all time fave is number 37. A dark nude that works on so many different skin tones. No need for a lipliner with these which is great, super comfy and long lasting.
“I normally add a gloss or lip balm on top of matte lips, so I love this Inglot 51 Lip Paint! It’s creamy and fully opaque as opposed to sheer and sticky. Shade 51 is a lovely nude colour and super popular, too! If I bring this on a night out, I throw some cotton buds into my bag to apply this with to save me bringing a brush!”
