IT ONLY SEEMS like yesterday that we were celebrating International Bacon Day 2011.
Time sure does fly when struggling to keep cholesterol levels in check. Held each year on the Saturday before America’s Labour Day (as in, today), this celebration has given rise to some pretty strange concoctions.
How about a Maple Bacon Latte, as brought to you by the official sounding Royal Bacon Society?
For those who want something harder (but no less disgusting), how about a swig of some Bacon Maple Ale, with ingredients that include, eh, bacon and maple syrup.
Where else could you find out about bacon beer but in a post with a title of ‘Bacon Beer, Part Two’, which makes us believe that there is a ‘Bacon Beer, Part One’ out there somewhere. Worrying.
If your local off-license doesn’t stock bacon beverages (highly likely), you can always make your own. Bacon appletini anyone?
If all this seems like too much hard work, wikiHow have a list of steps to help you enjoy today more, which basically involves eating more bacon.
If even that seems like too much trouble, you can always celebrate the day by watching this educational video about ‘bacon bombing’.
