iPad Mini: What's the point?
TAKE YOUR iPHONE, take your iPad, mash them together, and take away the ability to make phone calls… now you have an ‘iPad mini’.
At least, that’s what the cynics are saying ahead of the suspected launch of the latest Apple product today – a 7.8 inch tablet, less powerful and smaller than the current iPad, and crucially, less expensive.
People are confused though, God love them. And maybe they have a point:

Of course there’s more to it than that. Apple Insider tells us that the iPad Mini will “lower the barrier to entry for the iPad lineup”, undercutting the price of the iPad 2 and making the product more accessible.
Apple Insider also speculates that the device will be easier to operate with one hand.
Techradar meanwhile suggests that this new, smaller iPad could mean that the iPad 2 will be phased out. It’s also rumoured that the Mini will cost €249. Buying an iPad in Ireland will currently set you back at least €400, with the latest models starting at €479.
