Oldboy
(TheHour/YouTube)
For fans of: Thrillers, violence, intrigue
Avoid if: You think the original is always best
(Yes, the above video is an interview with Spike Lee about the film, as it was nigh on impossible to find a version that wasn’t NSFW. If you’d like to watch it though, click here. Like we said: NSFW.) This is a remake of the Korean film, considered a masterpiece by its fans… but viewers of the new version of the thriller, which stars Josh Brolin as a man who escapes from solitary confinement, aren’t rating it too high.

For fans of: The Beat Generation, Kerouac, Ginsberg
Avoid if: Daniel is forever Harry in your eyes
Daniel Radcliffe stars as Allen Ginsberg – he being the Beat Generation icon – in this film that looks at the poet’s time at Columbia University and how he got caught up in a murder investigation. Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs can also be found in this intriguing film.

Frozen
(disneyanimation/YouTube)
For fans of: Funny snowmen, comedy
Avoid if: You think winter isn’t funny
When a kingdom gets trapped in an eternal winter, who’s going to save it from destruction? This animated film looks pretty hilarious, and with Kristen Bell as a kooky princess and Josh Gad voicing a gas snowman, it should be a rather funny watch indeed.
