VIDEO: Your weekend movies... Frank
WHICH NEW MOVIE release is worth the price of a cinema ticket this weekend?
We’re here to help you decide just that, with these trailers.
Frank
For fans of: Fassbender, music
Avoid if: You’re scared by men with big heads
Loosely inspired by Jon Ronson’s experiences working as a keyboardist with outsider musician Frank Sidebottom, Frank is about an odd band headed by a man who wears a giant fake head. That man is played by Michael Fassbender, and the band members include Domhnall Gleeson and Maggie Gyllenhaal, so you know you’re onto a great thing here. And did we mention the director is Lenny Abrahamson (What Richard Did)?
The Wind Rises
For fans of: Anime, Japan
Avoid if: You hate ‘cartoons’, man
Jiro dreams of flying in this beautiful look at the life of Jiro Horikoshi, who designed fighter plans for Japan in WWII. Bit of a history lesson here for you.
Sabotage
For fans of: Arnie
Avoid if: You prefer Agatha Christie
Arnie’s back, and this time he’s the head of a DEA enforcement team that gets involved in some messy business. Expect lots of action, natch.
