An Irish lad was on Good Morning Britain to tell his Mam about the 'Despacito' tattoo he got in Magaluf

Oh. My. God.

MEET MATTHEW NOLAN.

Matthew is a young man from Drogheda, Co. Louth, who is currently holidaying in Magaluf. The other night, Matthew was out and about when he decided to get a tattoo in a tattoo parlour called, appropriately enough, Sorry Mom Tattoo.

That very night, there happened to be a camera crew from Good Morning Britain interviewing merry youngsters getting tattoos in Magaluf and they decided to chat to Matthew.

“I’m getting ‘despacito’ on my foot,” he explained to the morning show. It was then put to him that he might not like Despacito next year to which he replied, “Maybe not, but I’ll look back and I’ll say ‘despacito’.”

When asked how much alcohol he had consumed that night, he replied, “I’ve had a couple of drinks. Oh my goodness.” (Reader, I think he had a few drinks.)

Here he is proudly showing off the finished product. Lovely. Timeless, even.

This morning, Good Morning Britain invited young Matthew onto the show to break the news of his tattoo to his Mam on live television. As you do, sure.

The show got Matthew’s mother Geraldine Nolan on the phone and invited her to comment on her son’s tattoo. “Your Mum is on the phone to us now from Co. Louth in Ireland,” said Richard Madeley, pronouncing Louth as though it rhymes ‘youth’.

So how did Geraldine take it? Rather well actually!

She praised Matthew for being “cautious” and getting the tattoo on his foot as opposed to anywhere more, you know, obvious.

Matthew is such a Justin Bieber anyway so no surprise with his choice of tattoo. He’s also been quite clever getting it in an area like down below there on the foot in case I would have changed the locks on the doors maybe this morning or when he returns home.

She added that Matthew is “still welcome back home” in spite of his high jinks and assured him that she took it in good spirits.

I just laughed and took it in great fun. There are worse things happening in the world so I’m still proud of him and I still love him.

That’s the spirit, Mam.
