Irish man wows judges on Britain’s Got Talent with ode to mystery girl

But Irish competitor worries that his stint on RTÉ’s The Voice puts him at danger of elimination.

IRISH SINGER/SONGWRITER Ryan O’Shaughnessy broke hearts this weekend when he appeared on Britain’s Got Talent.

He impressed the judging panel – Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon – with his own song, ‘No Name’.

The audience fell in love with O’Shaughnessy when he said that it was a song about a girl that he had been friends with for years, but that he had never told her how he felt.

The judges were equally taken with the love song and tried their best to get O’Shaughnessy to say who the girl was.

Following his performance Walliams said “I can’t believe she won’t go out with you.” Simon Cowell then said “if that doesn’t work nothing will”.

(If you’re that girl, do feel free to get in touch and tell us if it won you over…)

However, O’Shaughnessy is worried that he could be kicked off the show as he was under contract with RTÉ’s The Voice of Ireland when he first auditioned. Brian Kennedy pressed the button for O’Shaughnessy on The Voice of Ireland stating that he felt “he was taking a risk” on the young singer. O’Shaughnessy was eliminated from the first live round of the Irish show.

O’Shaughnessy, who is also a former Fair City actor, told The Sunday Mirror that Britain’s Got Talent was the better stage adding “I’ve always wanted to be on Britain’s Got Talent so it would be a real blow if I had to leave”.

What do you think of his performances?
