Here's everything we know about RTÉ's Irish version of Say Yes to the Dress
FIRSTLY LET’S JUST clear up the fact that this is not a TV show where a group of men pick out dresses and a woman has to select the wedding dress she liked the most, binding her in a contract where she must marry the man who chose her dress. Thankfully, despite its name, it’s also not a show where women marry dresses either.
It’s RTÉ’s new take on the US show which is based in Kleinfeld Bridal, a Manhattan bridal salon which combines bridal stories, fashion makeovers and family therapy sessions.
The series will air in early 2018.
It’ll be ten episodes long and will be filmed in a brand new Irish bridal store, stocked with stunning dresses from all over the world. We’ll get to see brides in the salon trying on all of the styles, colours and patterns before showing them to their families and friends in hopes that they will Say Yes to the Dress. That sounds a lot better than marrying a dress.
Just like the staff at Kleinfeld Bridal, the new Irish bridal salon will have a team bending over backwards to give their customers an unforgettable experience. Each episode will look at everything from the personalities of the brides to the intense craftsmanship that goes into the making of the wedding dresses.
At the moment they’re looking for interested brides.
If you are getting married soon and think you’re the kind of person whose family and friends enjoy saying yes to dresses, you can apply here. They’re looking for brides with big and small budgets, traditional and not-so-traditional tastes, brides who have looked everywhere to no avail and brides who are only starting the hunt for the perfect dress.
It’ll be produced by Shinawil who are behind shows like Dancing with the Stars, Dragon’s Den, Celebrity Masterchef, The Voice of Ireland and Home of the Year (to name a few).
We can only imagine what Irish families will be like on this show.
