With less funding and more scrutiny, women in sport don’t have it easy.

Whether they’re representing their county at national level or playing for their country at international level, these talented players have heard every barbed remark and cutting comment the public has to offer.

But that doesn’t stop them.

And in honour of International Women’s Day yesterday, four members of Ireland’s National Soccer team, Niamh Fahey, Sophie Perry, Amber Barrett and Claire O’Riordan, took on their critics.
