LENA THE GORILLA has finally given up the secret of her baby’s sex at Dublin Zoo – it’s a boy.
We reported two weeks ago that keepers at the zoo were having difficulty establishing the gender of the new baby gorilla because mum Lena was keeping him close to her chest.
But today team leader Ciaran McMahon said that they could confirm the gorilla is male after two weeks of round-the-clock monitoring. As per Dublin Zoo’s new arrivals, animal lovers are invited to submit suggestions for the baby gorilla’s name based on his west African origin. Suggestions can be made at the Learning and Discovery Centre.
