Jameela Jamil blasted a company for advertising their appetite suppressants in Times Square
IF YOU STILL aren’t familiar with Jameela Jamil, you’re really missing out.
The 32-year-old presenter, model, actress and writer is known for a couple of things: namely, her exceptional collection of suits, her role as Tahani al-Jamil in The Good Place and her excellent ability to call out shitty behaviour. (See: her recent fight with Bono’s daughter.)
So with all of that in mind, the chances of her holding her tongue when she spotted a really problematic advertisement in the middle of New York City were pretty slim.
For a bit of background, Kim Kardashian ended up in some serious trouble back in May after she posted an advertisement for Flat Tummy Co on Instagram. The advertisement featured a lollipop which promises to keep food cravings ‘in check’.
At the time, Jameela, was pretty disgusted. So she wrote about it on Twitter:
Whoops!

Two months later, it appears that Flat Tummy Co are ramping up their ad campaigns, with a spread of massive billboards in Times Square, NYC. Once again, Jameela took to Twitter to make it clear that she’s not here for this, at all.

Jameela uploaded a screenshot of her tweet to Instagram, adding:
I_Weigh, the page that Jameela linked to, is Jameela’s initiative to help women see their value beyond their physical appearance. Jameela has spent years using her platform to help promote positive body image and gave a pretty impressive speech on the topic in 2014.
