The Strokes frontman wasn't really having any of James Corden, and it's pretty awkward
THE THING ABOUT appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden is that you have to be ready to get your hands dirty.
Whether it’s Drop The Mic, Carpool Karaoke, or Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts, James’ guests are expected to get involved and, at the very least, look like they’re enjoying themselves.
Unfortunately, that particular memo never reached Julian Casablancas, frontman of The Strokes.
Giving off vibes that weren’t entirely dissimilar to the ones David Blaine laid on Eamonn Holmes back in the day, Julian, who was promoting his other band Voidz, was there physically, but it’s safe to say he had pretty much checked out mentally.
While polite and semi-engaged, Julian was all about the deadpan responses, and James was all about the shrill voice and nervous laughter.
And YouTubers were struggling to watch.
Let’s just say, it wasn’t exactly the show’s finest hour…
