Jedward thank their 'jedicated' fans as they head for Eurovision... again
JEDWARD ARE CELEBRATING this morning after securing a second consecutive appearance at the Eurovision song contest last night.
The 20-year-old Lucan twins won the Eurosong Special on last night’s Late Late Show with the song Waterline.
Written by Nick Jarl and Sharon Vaughan, the indefatigable John and Edward Grimes will now take the tune to Azerbaijan for the semi-final on 22 May.
“We Want to THANK everyone that voted and supported us all the Radios and TVs and Most of All the JEDICATED FANS! Ahhhhhhhhh,” the duo tweeted last night.
Speaking this morning on RTÉ’s Marian Finucane show, one of the pair (we’re really not sure which one, maybe it was both) said: ”It’s so exciting to like do it a second year in a row.”
“We’re so pumped. We’re going to put on a great performance in Azerbaijan,” they added as the contest returns Azerbaijan’s capital Baku for the second year running.

Last year the duo came eighth with the song Lipstick and will be hoping for a better performance this year, mentored by 1992 Eurovision winner Linda Martin.
The brothers Grimes beat off competition from Celtic Aura with Maria McCool, Donna McCaul, Andrew Mann, Una Gibney and David Shannon with a combination of the public vote and jury selection.
Between now and May, the pair told RTÉ Radio that they will be preparing for Baku as well as recording their new album and recording a new series for Channel 5 in the UK.
Jedward will perform for Ireland at the first semi-final of the 57th song contest on 22 May before hopefully advancing to the final on 26 May.
