Jim Carrey tried to explain *that* awkward interview - by giving an even weirder one... it's the Dredge

Get your dirt here.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

At this stage you’ve probably seen the baffling interview Jim Carrey gave at the Harper’s Bazaar party at New York Fashion week, above.

He’s since rocked up to TIFF in Toronto, and obviously the first question interviewers had was about the E! red carpet scene.

He got even more philosophical with an ET Canada reporter:

Asked directly about the New York fashion week interview, he said:

I think that we’re all trying to add things to ourselves so we can finally define ourselves, and everyone will get us, and they’ll go ‘oh this is what you are,’ and if you actually get there, you will find it so empty that you’ll realise that’s so not what it’s about.
It’s about going with the flow and not taking it personally, the difference between a house and my house is a world of difference it’s the ‘my’ that’s the problem, so you can do all this without the ‘my’ involved. Life isn’t happening to you, it’s happening for the good of everyone.

Perhaps noteworthy in all this is that he’s in Toronto to promote a documentary about his time playing comedian Andy Kaufman – himself known for pulling off elaborate stunts in public to confuse and amuse people.

It it some sort of tribute act? Or something else entirely? Everyone will be waiting for his next interview to see.

Rebel Wilson won Aus$4.5 million (€3 million) in damages today – Australia’s largest ever defamation payout – following a lengthy case against an Australian publisher that portrayed her as a serial liar.

Rebel successfully sued Bauer Media over magazine articles which claimed she had lied about her age and background to further her acting career – and it directly impacted her job:

Throughout the three-week trial, an often-emotional Wilson claimed she was sacked from DreamWorks animated feature films Trolls and Kung Fu Panda 3 following the articles.

Laura Whitmore is in New York for fashion week right now, and along with posting this tribute to 9/11 on Instagram, posed with her new bf with the skyline in the background.

Yep, it’s the Scottish comedian Iain Stirling aka the guy who did the voiceover on Love Island:

They’re “taking things to the next level” according to the tabloids.

She can’t get enough of Fashion Week every year:

Let’s hope Stirling is still producing witty one-liners while the models stroll down the catwalks – even though there are no mics on him.

And the rest of the day’s dirt…
