AP confused murder suspect Robert Durst with Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst

It could happen to anyone *snigger*

SOMETIMES CORRECTIONS AND newspaper typos can be very funny – and this one might be the best of the year so far.

Noted international news organisation The Associated Press were reporting on The Jinx murder case (HBO have aired a series on the case and everyone is talking about it). The lead suspect in the case is Robert Durst.

The lead singer of Limp Bizkit is Fred Durst. You can already tell what happened.

In its first story on the case, the AP reported that:

Trooper Melissa Matey told the Associated Press that an arrest warrant was issued for the former Limp Bizkit frontman and he was rebooked in the Orleans Parish Jail on Monday under two new charges.

Of course, the retraction and correction was swift:

The Associated Press reported erroneously that Robert Durst is a member of a band. He is a real estate heir; Fred Durst is the former frontman of Limp Bizkit.

And, as you would imagine, the jokes were quick to come

Any reference to Fred Durst in international media coverage is always a good thing, right?
