Joan Collins rushed to hospital after Oscars because of 'very tight gown'
ACTRESS JOAN COLLINS has revealed that she was rushed to hospital following the Oscars after squeezing into a “very tight gown” to attend the ceremony.
Collins said that she had “squeezed” herself into the lilac dress by Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika and “resigned myself to not eating much at the Vanity Fair Oscars bash.”
“Admittedly it was a very tight gown,” she wrote in the Daily Mail.
The 77-year-old star said that she began to feel dizzy awards party and stepped out with her husband Percy for some air. When she came to, she realised she was surrounded by firefighters.
“Apparently, I had fainted in Percy’s arms and he, in a panic, had asked security to call an ambulance – which was roomier than (sister) Jackie’s limo and, thanks to the sirens, much swifter in Hollywood traffic.”
She went on: “I put myself in the care of professionals at the hospital’s emergency room.
“There, after an hour of tests, the doctors discharged me with stern admonishments not to wear such tight dresses – and to eat in future if I was expected to last the pace at the fabulous Vanity Fair party.”
Beauty is pain, girls.
