EARLIER THIS YEAR, Kanye West hinted that he had his eye on the Oval Office.
In a tweet which was since deleted, the rapper shared an image of a row of posters bearing his face with the caption ‘Keep America Great’.
Oh, and it was topped off with the hashtag #KANYE2024.
Given the fact this wasn’t first time he had alluded to getting his foot in the door at the White House, fans are curious as to whether he genuinely intends to run for the position currently held by Donald Trump.
And according to his mate, John Legend, it’s not off the cards by any stretch.
Speaking at the GQ Awards in London during the week, the Grammy Award-winning performer admitted he didn’t think Kanye’s interest was a flash in the pan.
“He’s said it multiple times. Yeah, I think he’s serious,” John told The Sun.
John, who has made no secret of his disdain for the current president and the esteem in which Kanye holds him, added:
I’d guess he’d run as an independent, but he’s never told me anything about what party he would run from. But he’s said multiple times that he’s interested in running for president.
Earlier this year, Kanye’s wife Kim attempted to justify her husband’s admiration for Donald Trump, telling Jimmy Kimmel:
We would talk about it and we would talk about policies and he doesn’t necessarily agree with the policies, he likes his [Trump's] kind of personality and how he made it to be president when everyone really underestimated him.
And it seems John is of the same opinion when it comes to Kanye’s take on President Trump.
I think that’s part of why he likes Trump is because I think he sees some aspects of himself in Trump and sees that Trump winning makes it feel like he could do it too.
Earlier this evening, Kanye tweeted a message which may or may not give the public an insight in how he might approach the presidency if he was to secure it.
I can only be the boss. I don’t have the time otherwise. It takes time to talk people into things. It takes no time to tell people what to do.

Right, so.
