Just Who is to save Hitler?
HITLER HAS A lot to thank the good Doctor for – the Time Lord’s set to save his life.
The shocking twist, in an upcoming episode of the BBC One sci-fi show, has been revealed to fans at the Comic Con in San Diego.
The Sun reports that a teaser for series six showed the Nazi leader thanking the Doctor and companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams for rescuing him.
It’ll happen in the first episode of the time travel drama, called ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’, written by Steven Moffat, according to the BBC’s official Doctor Who page.
The Mirror quotes programme makers as saying the Tardis will land in 1930s Berlin bringing the Doctor face to face with Hitler, and a few other foes too.
And it’s not the only thing that viewers need to prepare themselves for – the trailer also contains details of the Doctor’s death.
His end will come on 22 April 2011 at 5.02 on Lake Silencio in Utah. According to the trailer, an astronaut will rise from the dead and strike the Time Lord dead.
The clip also hints that enemies of the Doctor, including the Silence, the Cybermen and the Weeping Angels, could make a comeback.
And, in a final surprise, comedian James Corden looks set to reappear – actually, he’s set to lock lips with Matt Smith, who plays the Doctor.
Fellow funnyman David Walliams is also scheduled for a slot – he’ll feature in an episode written by Toby Whithouse.
Series six hits our screens later this year.
