EARLIER THIS WEEK Kanye succeeded at enraging the entire planet by suggesting that slavery was “a choice” during an interview with TMZ.
One person that took particular issue with the remarks was Nigerian senator Shehu Sani, who had some words for Yeezy on Twitter.
Sani tweeted: “If @kanyewest thinks Slavery was a choice, we will offer him a free ticket & tour guide to visit slave routes and camps in Badagry Lagos, Ouida Benin Republic, Ghana & Goree Island in Senegal to ‘experience the choices in chains.’
Kanye defecated on the graves of victims.”
Tell ‘em how you really feel, Shehu.
West has since clarified his statements earlier this week. “To make myself clear,” he tweeted. “Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will.
My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved.”
Detroit radio station 105.1 The Bounce has pulled the plug on playing the rapper’s music because of what he said.
“We feel like Kanye has gone too far with his latest statement declaring that ‘slavery was a choice,’” a Facebook post from the station reads.
