He was honoured at a BET ceremony.

IN JANUARY KANYE West was given the visionary award at the BET Honours ceremony and gave a charming and interesting speech, which was broadcast on television this week.

He spoke about his relationship with a “woman not of colour” Kim Kardashian, their “beautiful black child” and her father’s part in the defence trial of OJ Simpson.

He also spoke about the concept of slavery and freedom:

Don’t think that cos we can afford this custom Balmain suit, that we’re free. And don’t think that because we can buy a €300,000 car, that we’re free.
