Kate Winslet answered a very entertaining quickfire set of questions about Titanic last night
IT’S 20 YEARS now since Titanic graced our screens for the first time – and it was the ship that launched a thousand arguments and moaning on about that “door” scene.
Kate Winslet is back on the promotional tour scene thanks to her new film Wonder Wheel, so there’s naturally going to be loads of Titanic questions given the anniversary.
Last night, she was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and he had so many questions waiting for her
Colbert had an idea:
“There are diehard Titanic fans among the Late Show staff. I have a separate card just from my staff – we’ll do a lightning round”

“How often do you listen to Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On”

This was an easy one for Kate:
Colbert jumped right on to the film’s most famous scene:
The host then asked did she really get pneumonia after filming the scene in the water:
“No, but I did get hypothermia” and then followed it up with “Yes, I was really f**king cold”

Why did it have to be cold?
The interrogation continued:
“Could you keep a straight face when you said ‘draw me like one of your French girls’”

She just about held it together:
Kate then revealed that her son was in the cinema for that famous sketching scene:
The main revelation from the interview was that Winslet auditioned with Matthew McConaughey for Leo’s part:
They then recreated *that* door scene using Colbert’s desk

But she was taking no responsibility for Jack’s death:
She was *never* going to blame Rose, in fairness.
