Over 200,000 people have signed a petition to get Katie Hopkins fired
KATIE HOPKINS CERTAINLY enjoys stirring the pot, but it seems she has well and truly crossed the line this time.
In her latest column for The Sun newspaper, published on Saturday, she compares migrants smuggling themselves into the UK to “cockroaches” and says she “doesn’t care” if they die doing it.
There has been a massive online backlash to the article – and though many people are pointing out that Hopkins loves causing controversy, others believe that her views are too dangerous to be ignored. (If you do want to ignore her, here’s how.)

“Katie claims she ‘doesn’t care if migrants die’ which is an opinion she is entitled to, despite it being a sad and selfish one,” writes petition founder Izzy Saunders.
After just two days, the petition has received 201,637 signatures, over 65% of its goal of 300,000.
The Sun has yet to comment on the backlash to the article.
