Keira Knightley has admitted that her name is spelled wrongly. Finally. The actress said the mistake was down to a combination of a Russian figure skater and her mother’s terrible spelling, telling Elle magazine:
I was meant to be named ‘Kiera,’ after a Russian ice skater who was on the TV one day. My dad fancied her and nicked her name for me. But it was my mum who went to register my birth, and she accidentally spelled ‘ei’ instead of ‘ie’ because my mum’s crap at spelling.

Sadie calls Billy ‘Biddy’ – she refuses to refer to him by anything else [...] If he starts to wake up and cry, she’ll potter over to his basket and pat him gently on his head, saying: ‘There, there, Biddy; there, there.’ It’s hilarious. She’s made her two-month-old brother into this little old lady!
