People are going mad for the fancy new H&M collection - here's what you need to know

Kenzo x H&M launches tomorrow.

EVERY YEAR, H&M team up with a designer for an exclusive collaboration. Previous collaborations include H&M x Balmain and H&M x Alexander Wang.

Tomorrow the store’s highly anticipated collaboration with Kenzo launches in stores at 9am.

So what do you need to know?

First of all, who or what is Kenzo?

Kenzo is a French design house founded by Japanese-French designer Kenzo Takada. (Its current creative directors are Humberto Leon and Carol Lim.) The brand counts the likes of Lupita Nyong’o, Joe Jonas, Sienna Miller and Rosario Dawson among its famous fans.

A quick gander at their website reveals that their dresses cost anywhere from €165 to €1,040.

So let’s just say they’re not Penneys.

What’s the deal with their collaboration with H&M?

The two brands have teamed up to create 68 looks for men and women. (There are 38 garments for women and 30 for men.) The looks are heavy on frills, animal print and fur.

Are they wearable, though?

Glad you asked! Here’s what some of the clothes look like on real-life human people.

Interesting. Is it expensive?

The prices range from €9.99 for a pair of socks  to €399 for a rather extravagant dress.

There are a lot of tops, trousers, skirts and accessories for under €100, though.

How might one go about getting their filthy mitts on the gear?

The collection goes on sale online and in H&M College Green at 9am.

Be warned, though: people queued from 10.30pm last year to get their hands on H&M x Balmain in Dublin.

Fashion, eh?
