People are absolutely devastated about the untimely passing of Bento, the Keyboard Cat
2009 BROUGHT US some pretty incredible viral moments.
First, we had David whose drugged-up journey home from the dentist set in motion a whole host of follow-up dentist videos.
Then we had Jill and Kevin’s wedding entrance dance to Chris Brown’s Forever – a five-minute video, which spawned countless more high-energy dance routines from newlyweds who woudn’t rest until their Baby Got Back routine was seen by the world.
And finally, we had Bento, the Keyboard Cat.
Good old Bento shot to fame almost ten years ago when footage of his performances on the keyboard made it on to YouTube.
And suffice to say, a star was born.
Tragically, poor old Bento got less than a decade to enjoy the adulation of fans, with his owner Charlie Schmidt confirming Bento’s recent passing on Facebook yesterday.
After posting a tribute to Bento, Charlie’s announcement was shared almost 35,000 times in mere hours.

Naturally, Twitter is also devastated, and wasted no time paying their respects to a cat which brought the world of music so much.
And here are just a few which sum up the true essence of Bento.
